Shping Security generates a globally-recognisable unique product identification for each item being produced. This number is called a Serialised Global Trade Item Number (SGTIN). The SGTIN can be linked with all raw materials and their unique identifiers (for example, each orange in a bottle of orange juice). Therefore, this number is able to provide raw material data disclosing the supplier, date and method of production.

Within minutes, all parties in question can be contacted to begin removal of the recalled product. If any consumer uses the Shping app to scan the recalled product, they will be notified that the product shouldn’t be consumed. Consumers who may have scanned and purchased said product prior to the recall announcement would immediately receive a push notification informing them of the recall.
Managing product recalls
Brand owners will also be notified each time a recalled product is scanned. Using the scan location of recalled product, you can monitor product removal and react quickly if any products were to remain in the supply chain.
